Last night I had my run through of my dances in my costume. It was probably the best class I have had in a very long time. 3 more classes until Forest City Feis.
Now lets talk about the best part of today.....THE ROYAL WEDDING!
Truly I wish I could of been in London for this very special occasion, but still enjoyed watching the ceremony and kiss on my television screen. Plus... Why not be optimistic? HARRY's STILL SINGLE! He's sooo handsome. He looked great with his non-fuss hair in his army uniform.
As a little girl I had an odd obsession with the royal family, particularly the late Princess Diana. I created scrap books and joined the heaps of people when Prince Charles and Princess Diana came to Toronto. When news passed that Diana died, I felt an overwhelming sense of loss. I wouldn't say it was grief, for I believe I was far too young to truly understand what the world had lost, but I knew that this beautiful woman and mother was no longer with us and the world would miss her presence.
I couldn't imagine how William felt today without his mother there, but I'm sure Diana couldn't be any happier with the woman he has found to be his wife. Although Diana may not of enjoyed all the attention that was brought to her when she became royalty I feel as Catherine has the grace and poise to be the Queen of England.
Kate's dress was fabulous. As all of you know by now it was created by Alexander McQueen's designer Sarah Burton. I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought the lace and the bodice was gorgeous and the skirt was a beautiful traditional touch. Also nice accessories were her veil and tiara. Stunning stunning stunning!
Favourite part of the ceremony was this:
"If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world on fire!"-- Saint Catherine of Siena
I am now watching the ceremony on repeat and probably will not leave my couch until I have to get ready to head home for the evening.
Enjoy your Royal Wedding Day,
The Duchess of Toronto, Miss.Margaret Wilkins
