Feis Eve
The night before is here. On the eve of my first feis in 6 years I will be tanning my legs curling my hair and trying to calm my nerves. I am not going to do a long post today since I feel like it will just be the same ol' ramble I have been writing for the last week.

4 More Sleeps
4 Sleeps 'til Forest City Feis
Saturday is almost here. I'm soooo nervous. The decision has been made that I will be wearing a bun wig instead of my full wig. I think its an elegant more refined look and it's really starting to grow on me. I have a constant feeling of butterflies in my stomach. I don't even know if I am going to be able to walk onto the stage. I looked up on efeis.com and there is 12 competitors registered. 11 girls who are more than capable of whipping my ass. Haha Stay brave Maggie... Stay Brave.

Royal Wedding Awards
Wedding day
Last night I had my run through of my dances in my costume. It was probably the best class I have had in a very long time. 3 more classes until Forest City Feis.
Now lets talk about the best part of today.....THE ROYAL WEDDING!
Truly I wish I could of been in London for this very special occasion, but still enjoyed watching the ceremony and kiss on my television screen. Plus... Why not be optimistic? HARRY's STILL SINGLE! He's sooo handsome. He looked great with his non-fuss hair in his army uniform.
As a little girl I had an odd obsession with the royal family, particularly the late Princess Diana. I created scrap books and joined the heaps of people when Prince Charles and Princess Diana came to Toronto. When news passed that Diana died, I felt an overwhelming sense of loss. I wouldn't say it was grief, for I believe I was far too young to truly understand what the world had lost, but I knew that this beautiful woman and mother was no longer with us and the world would miss her presence.
I couldn't imagine how William felt today without his mother there, but I'm sure Diana couldn't be any happier with the woman he has found to be his wife. Although Diana may not of enjoyed all the attention that was brought to her when she became royalty I feel as Catherine has the grace and poise to be the Queen of England.
Kate's dress was fabulous. As all of you know by now it was created by Alexander McQueen's designer Sarah Burton. I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought the lace and the bodice was gorgeous and the skirt was a beautiful traditional touch. Also nice accessories were her veil and tiara. Stunning stunning stunning!
Favourite part of the ceremony was this:
"If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world on fire!"-- Saint Catherine of Siena
I am now watching the ceremony on repeat and probably will not leave my couch until I have to get ready to head home for the evening.
Enjoy your Royal Wedding Day,

Sun!
Finally, some sun in Toronto. It's been rainy and grey for days now, and there is just a hint of sun shining through my living room window :). Apparently it's suppose to rain later though. I choose to ignore the Weather Network.
I think before I head to my first day back at work, since passover break, I will wander around the neighbourhood and catch some of the beautiful sun rays, and a soy latte wouldn't hurt either.
This song just won't leave my brain today... HELL ON HEELS-- Pistol Annies
Enjoy the weather where ever you are today.

Song of the week
I could stick around and get along with you, hello. It doesn't really mean that I'm into you, hello. You're alright but I'm here, darling, to enjoy the party. Don't get too excited 'cause that's all you get from me, hey. Yeah, I think you're cute, but I really think that you should know. I just came to say hello, hello, hello, hello. I'm not the kinda girl to get messed up with you, hello. I'ma let you try to convince me to, hello. It's alright I'm getting dizzy just enjoy the party. It's OK with me if you don't have that much to say, hey. Kinda like this game but there's something you should know. I just came to say hello, hello, hey, hey. I could stick around and get along with you, hello. It doesn't really mean that I'm into you, hello. You're alright but I'm here, darling, to enjoy the party. Don't get too excited cause thats all you get from me hey. Yeah I think your cute but really you should know. I just came to say hello, hello, hello, hello. 11 days left
11 Days until my first dance competition back since retirement over 5 years ago.
I'm extremely nervous, and I am trying not to have any expectations for the day other than to do it. I just hope I don't vomit on stage lol.
The dance dress is almost done. I have added all the crystals on the skirt just need to finish the bodice and sleeves. I look forward to the day when i never have to glue another crystal on it. I will definitely post a picture once it is done.
Easter Weekend was a hit. I went home to Uxbridge on Saturday night and went out with my friends Beth and Chris to Barrie's The Bank nightclub. I danced for three hours straight and had far too much to drink but I had a blast. Its always nice to get dressed up and get down with your bad self.

Sunday, instead of recovering from my ridiculous hangover, I helped mum cook. We had a great family dinner with Turkey, all the fixings and a great vegetarian option, Cannelloni Crepes. Genius, instead of pasta shells we made homemade crepes and stuffed them with loads of cheese and zucchini and covered them in tomato sauce and more cheese. yum yum yum! Fair to say I skipped the wine at dinner though. Sparkling water all night for me.
Tomorrow is the first day back to the grind of dance classes and work. Thank goodness I have a couple weeks off school to help me concentrate solely on dance.Hopefully the long weekend didn't mess with my body too much.

Dance Journal Entry 1
I have officially decided to change this blog into my dance and training journal. No one reads this anyways, and besides if someone actually wants to waste their time on reading about my boring life then let em'.
This is week has beyond hectic. St.Paddy's week. One of the busiest and craziest week for an irish dancer. No stop performances at retirement homes and pubs + a senior dancer = blisters, exhaustion and back pain. Waaahhhh... <-- Snooky (Jersey Shore) reference. This week has helped me to become comfortable performing in front of people again, which is good since I am starting to compete in May, but I am looking forward to Friday when it's all over and I can sit in front of my t.v and watch Say Yes to the Dress.
So I need to online my goals for Nationals 2011. My big come back. Back in the day I always did well at Nationals so I guess that's why I picked that major as my come back. Today I was asked what my goal was, and although my mother would love for me to say "to have fun and be happy with the way I danced", it's actually to qualify for Worlds. I have been one spot away from qualifying more than once, and believe me it's uber frustrating. I feel no where near where I need to be if I am going to qualify at Nationals, but I know if I stay on track and focused I can do anything I put my mind to.
I want to be:
NATIONALS WORLD QUALIFIER, NATIONALS WORLD QUALIFIER, NATIONALS WORLD QUALIFIER, NATIONALS WORLD QUALIFIER, NATIONALS WORLD QUALIFIER, NATIONALS WORLD QUALIFIER, NATIONALS WORLD QUALIFIER, NATIONALS WORLD QUALIFIER, NATIONALS WORLD QUALIFIER
Today:
Two shows both at retirement homes and practiced at the studio for 30mins
